Ok fun things first - I’ve actually been shortlisted for the Amara Interior blog awards and invited to the event in London. SAYY WHAT! I have to say that i did not expect that and are in-fact completely gobsmacked! Thank you all so so very much for voting ??? I’ve never been nominated, never mind shortlisted for anything before!! A little sneaky peeky ? I was reluctant to share this pic as it’s only the first coat and still looks patchy but what’s a renovation page without progress pics eh? So here it is, the first coat of @farrowandball Railings on our kitchen floor and I absolutely LOVE IT! ??? It’s definitely taken some time to get the kitchen to this stage and there are still things I want to do ? Swipe through to see the evolution of this space - it’s taken over 12 months to get it to where it is today but happy we took our time with it. @kyliejenner ‘s dining room is a confection of pinks. My ‘Rive Gauche ‘ dining chairs are covered in shades of pink leather that i matched to colors in her lipstick kits for a truly personal touch. I used the @damienhirst hearts and butterfly’s artworks as another nod to Kylie’s love of butterflies and the special meaning they have to her and @travisscott . I custom designed the dining table for the space out of lacquer , steel and Caesar stone and finished the room with a gilded ceiling to create a beautiful warm glow and ambiance , especially beautiful at night when the room is candle lit for one of Kylie’s many dinner parties. Zithoek make-over? Misschien hadden jullie het al gezien in mijn story!! Afgelopen weekend hebben we dit hoekje een make-over gegeven (SWIPE voor before) Het was een gedeelte van de woonkamer waar ik niet vaak een foto van maakte? I love the little makeover I did on a formerly-neglected guest bedroom on the ground floor of my parents’ home. Before, it was dark and depressing, a dumping ground for leftover furniture from their Yosemite house. After we painted the walls and hung our collection of old family photos, the room felt totally different, finally cozy and inviting. But it was time for the old bed in there to go! @ormomdo wanted a yoga/meditation space (those ottomans are light and move easily out of the way) and #orlanDAD needed a place to watch sports that wouldn’t drive my mom crazy (she’s not quite as big a sports fan as is). The sofa is from @allmodern (designed by @gusmodern) and it’s surprisingly comfortable as both a bed AND a sofa (which is rare for sleeper sofas!). LET THIS BE A LESSON TO ALL OF US THAT IF A SOFA CAN ALSO BE A BED THAT THERE IS NO LIMIT TO YOUR POTENTIAL IF YOU SET YOUR SIGHTS HIGH. A long time ago that sofa was probably like “ONE DAY I’LL BE A BED!” And all the other little sofas were like “YOU’RE CRAZY, ALL YOU’LL EVER BE IS A STUPID OLD SOFA.” But this sleeper sofa got the last laugh. While all those other dumb regular sofas doubted him, he’s achieved his dream of being a multifaceted sofabed about town.
